Elsewhere on our website, you can read about the history of the Welsh Language, where the Welsh speakers live, and what services are available in Welsh. On this page, you can hear what the language itself sounds like. We’ve uploaded the contents of a CD we’ve prepared to help you pronounce simple words and phrases. If you’d like to hear more, why not click on to the Welsh Language side of our website and turn on the 'readspeaker’ function? A speech synthesis service will read out the selected text. It works on the English language side of our website too.
