Estyn Llaw Project

Estyn Llaw, which roughly translates as 'helping hand' is available to offer practical support and advice to voluntary and community groups wishing to increase their use of Welsh in order to be able to offer service users a comprehensive language choice.

The Estyn Llaw scheme was established in 2000 as a pilot project in west Wales in order to bridge the gap which was developing between voluntary service providers and Welsh speakers. By now Estyn Llaw works with organisations in all parts of Wales and beyond.

The scheme is sponsored by the Welsh Language Board. It is managed by Iaith Cyf. In November 2006 a review of the scheme was conducted by Wavehill. Their report noted the successes of Estyn Llaw in raising awareness amongst third sector organisations and movements in Mid and West Wales. The full report is available by clicking on the link on the right hand side of this page.
