Over the years the Welsh Language Board has commissioned many projects to standardize terminology in different fields. These terms which are recommended by the Board following a process of standardization, have now been compiled in one place in the Welsh National Database of Standardized Terminology.  

It is possible to search for individual terms within the database. What is unique however is that you can also download these terms to use them within translation memory software. This will be of help to translators to ensure consistency in the terms used when producing bilingual text of all types.

Although they are not standardized technical terms, we have also included vocabulary for shop signs and menus which are used by the Linkline to Welsh service in the database.
