“Help is at hand with homework in Welsh”. Pupils from all over Wales were set the task of designing a poster that would make their friends and parents aware of the Welsh Homework Support Line, and they responded with some very creative ideas.
Bethan Thomas, a pupil in Year 9 at Ysgol Gyfun Dyffryn Taf, Carmarthenshire, designed the winning poster in the secondary school category. Bethan’s poster shows she has a vivid imagination, and she has used the Helpline’s logo to create the drawings of the pupils and teacher.

Amelia Kelly, a pupil in Year 6, Ysgol Plas Coch, Wrexham won the competition for primary school pupils. Amelia has created a very colourful, eye catching poster. Her friendly cartoon characters help convey how easy it is to get help with homework in Welsh.
Congratulations to both pupils on your winning designs. We hope that you have fun listening to your brand new ipods. Congratulations to both your schools too, on winning the book tokens. The posters have now been produced and will be available from the Board’s stall on the Maes at the Urdd Eisteddfod in Cardiff in May 2009.
